Will you still need me, will you still feed me?

I was just watching an ad for the Discovery Channel's "2057," about how scientists today are shaping the future and what life will be like in 50 years.

I thought to myself, "In fifty years, I'll be 81. Will I remember sitting here on the couch, watching that promo? Will I laugh about how absurd and off-base those predictions are? Or will I be amazed by their accuracy?"

Who am I kidding? I can never remember where my keys are NOW. In fifty years, I'll be lucky if I remember my own name and to chew with my mouth closed.

how funny you mention knowing where your keys are. tonight, in a frantic rush to make it work, i couldn't find mine. finally, my husband yanked his key off his chain, gave it to me and i dashed. on my break, i called. he'd been tearing the house apart. no luck. as my break ended, i reached in my bag for some lip gloss. hello keys. how nice of you to be in the most obvious spot ever.

i'm so screwed in 50 years. cripes. i'm screwed come thursday, probably.

Intially my 8 year old boys thought I was kidding when I asked them if they would change my diaper when I was old. They asked me yesterday, if it was really true that sometimes old people forget how to go to the bathroom. It freaked them out when I told them it was true.

Well, at least you now have a written account of at least thinking about the predictions. :)

Hmmmm...I wonder if someone is getting the new World of Warcraft today, yes--you and Airan popped into my head when I saw the ads in the paper advertising the release :)

Ah, yes, the Burning Crusade! We've been debating whether to run out and buy it today or not. Who are we kidding? As long as it's not sold out, I'm sure we'll have it before the day ends.

I used to be the queen of losing my keys, or locking them in the car. Now I'm lucky enough to have a van that the doors won't lock if the keys are in the ignition. And my purse has this cool little pocket in the front. So, I hang my purse in the same spot and put the keys in that little pocket most every time I come in the house. It saves me a lot of stress. Maybe I'll blog about the time the kids took my keys.
I'm hoping that old age treats me as well as my Grandma's on my mom's side. Perhaps since I didn't get their body type I will get their old age genes.

You can knit a sweater by the fireside,
Sunday morning go for a ride . . .

I love that song :) Now it's in the head!

Perhaps all of this World of Warcraft is honing your brainpower as we speak, and you'll be sharp as a tack come 50 years.
