Hey, Nanette--I don't know why that link isn't working for you. It looks ok on my end. But if you go to www.markdvorak.com and click on "Scrapbook," you'll find this about halfway down the page:
"Let the Mermaids Flirt With Me/ I’ve long been a fan and a student of the music of the great Mississippi John Hurt. This song (which he wrote) was included on his final record, Mississippi John Hurt Last Sessions. I recorded it in 1988 for my first, No Lonesome Tune, on Depot. Click on the picture of John Hurt to listen."
I heard Dvorak, uncredited, on Week End Addition, singing about how the Cubs had destroyed his childhood. It was a great song, but Scott Simon should have introduced him as more that just "a freind from Chicago." And speaking of Simon, I heard him today complaining about putting truffle sauce on sausage at Hot Doug's. Realy, Simon needs to be a little more loyal to the city he claims to love . . . or at least loyal to the people of that city.
P.S. Dvorak's very talented. I love "Every Step of the Way," the album you got me for Mother's Day. I highly recommend him to anyone who likes folksy, bluesly music.

That seems pretty cute so far. I didn't have a chance to hear all of it.
The website link didn't work for me, I'd be interested in the background of the song--I'll google him. Thanks for the link.
