Building a Temple Doesn't Make It True

Check out John Scalzi's enlightening and highly entertaining (and a little bit terrifying) report from his recent visit to the Creation Museum. Don't skip the photo tour, with its striking images and priceless commentary. Warning: Be prepared for much snarkiness and sacreligiosity. If you take creationism seriously, Mr. Scalzi's post will most likely not be up your alley.

We have a dinosaur with a saddle on it at Dinosaur Journey. You put a quarter in the box, a toddler on top of it, and everybody has a great time. I can't wait for the girls to see it.
$27 million! Holy COW!
If we had that much money, we'd never have to write another grant or beg in front of the County Commissioners ever again.
Maybe God doesn't love us and that's why we have to work so hard.
P.S. Our executive director is a paleontologist and a Mormon. Proof that all Christians aren't the credulous idiots the Creationist Museum is hoping they will be.
In fact, we've had Evangelical Christian paleo interns, and they don't buy into the horse s*#@t either.

I haven't had time yet to read through the site, but it's next on my to-do list!

I don't even know what to say. Wow.

A guy came into the library the other day looking for a book for an argument paper (I'm guessing a Comp I class) -- he wanted to argue in favor of Creation Science. I passive-aggressively pointed out that books about creation were filed under "religion", but he could find other stuff, like about evolution, under "science." He looked puzzled.
