So Much to Fear
While filling out a poll for an online polling service, I came across this question:

That just goes to show how a loaded question can scew the results of a poll.
Regretfully, this is a very common practice.
My friend Brenda just had her Yahoo! account hacked and her password changed, so now she can't access any of her e-mails. To me, that seems like a more tangible threat. Not that I want the government nosing in on my business...but the online stuff seems like a more immediate concern. And, really, if you think about it, we've also got the environment, our economy, the global threat of terrorism, dwindling social security, rising health care costs...hey, these worries are just the tip of the iceberg!
Nice of them to remind of us of so many good things going on in the world these days. Thank God all of our genius children are going to get these problems figured out and save the world from us slacker adults. It's all up to them because apparently the grown-ups can't be relied upon to not elect (and re-elect!) a government hell-bent on eroding our civil liberties.
P.S. Brenda's predicament sounds awful, Jules! Poor thing.
I agree with you. While online hacking is an overt threat and done by a lot of people. The other is worst it underminds the very foundations that have formed our government. THE RULE OF LAW Lets just suspend the Constitution. We are always going to be under danger. You are very naive to think you are safer now than before the twin tower bombing, so why are we going to change our government for a false sence of security.
This is foundation we give our childern. Our parents and grandparents didn't change the form of government during the depression, World Wars I or II. I guess we are just wimps to give up freedom for security.
