Dirty Ice

So, so gross: Hold the ice: What's in your glass might surprise you

The article asks, "Is toilet water cleaner than the ice that's in your drink?" And depending on where in the Chicagoland area you're having that drink, the answer might disgust and sicken you.

Do we STILL, in this day and age, have to remind people to wash their hands? Really?

Gross.
Hard to know what to drink anymore.
People used to drink beer because the water wasn't safe.
You're Dad is totally down with that idea.

Gah! I always ask for a straw when I order a drink at a restaurant because I don't wish to have the glass actually near my mouth. I thought I was curbing some bacteria no doubt missed in the wash process or from when the cup was pressed to the fountain. I never imagined the ice was a festering pool of bacteria! Blech!

Ewww. I'm not a big germophobe but just ewwww. It's amazing it doesn't make us all sicker!

The ice machine in our school grew fuzzy last year because people were dipping their hands in to get the ice without washing their hands first. Jack never orders ice in his drinks. That may be the way to go.

I'm with Kerri, it is amazing that we all aren't sicker. It is disgusting sure, but I'm sure it has been this way forever. Sometimes it is best to remain in the dark. :O
