Shovel This

Dear people in Chicagoland (and elsewhere) who don't shovel your sidewalks (specifically, the next-door-neighbors -- damn pigeon lovers! -- and assorted homeowners in Lincoln Park):

I hate you! I hate you! Get off your lazy bum and shovel your sidewalk! Or pay someone to do it for you! Do you have any idea how hard it is to push a fully loaded twin stroller through the icy, slushy obstacle course you've created? Do you? How do you think people in wheelchairs navigate that mess? Huh? Well? What do you have to say for yourself? No -- I don't want to hear it. Just take this shovel and get to work. Yes, I know it's much harder to shovel now that the snow has melted and refrozen into a rock-solid mass. You should have thought of that last week when you were too lazy to shovel the fresh, fluffy, newly fallen snow, all two inches of it.

Did I mention that I hate you?

You have just described 1/3 of my neighborhood :(

If you slip, fall, and break a bone, you can sue the property owner who was to lazy too shovel snow. They can shovel out cash instead.

I think I may live on the other side of your neighbor. My sidewalk will be shoveled, and rest assured, unlike the punk asses who live next door to me (I swear to god, if I see Greek letters go up on that house in the spring, I'm killing someone), I also won't park my car over the sidewalk.

Sigh..I think I hate neighbors in general...this is not a good thing!

amen, sister! they won't shovel their sidewalks, but they'll leave their tacky chairs-and-broomstick spacesavers in their shoveled-out parking spot. grrr.

The lawnchair-and-broom parking-space savers -- I hate them! As much as I hate the non-shoveling! Chicagoans can be real jerks in winter. I guess the cold weather brings out the Grinch in everyone.
