Dyson Animal Exploits

I'm beginning to suspect a conspiracy.

We vacuumed the living room floor again this morning for the third day in a row (as part of the infestation-eradication plan, not because I'm obsessed with the Animal -- which isn't to say I'm not obsessed with the Animal). And yet again, that dust cup was disgustingly full of dust and dirt and debris. Really? Still? After three days, the carpet is still that gross?

It's time to take apart that vacuum and find what I know must be hiding in there somewhere: a cartridge full of simulated dirt that is injected into the dust cup as you vacuum to make you think the Animal is doing a good job. What other explanation could there be?

I know what you mean. I can handle clutter.. but dirt makes me crazy.

This is an ongoing discussion in my household -- filth vs. clutter. Clearing away the miscellaneous clutter in our home is not "cleaning." It is straightening up. Cleaning involves rolled-up sleeves and chemical solutions and a bit of elbow grease.

I think you're missing what is clearly the real culprit: People hired by Dyson to come in nightly and sprinkle dirt and yuck on your rug.

I have to get one of those things. We have enough cat fur, and probably left-over coker spaniel fur, to drive the animal insane.

Mom, you would love it. For the first time ever (in my whole life, I think, given all the dogs we've had), I can get down on hands and knees and search and search the rug for dog hair and find -- nothing. Not a single strand. It's astonishing.

That's it. I'm thawing out the credit cards.

I agree with you, Kelly, on the filth vs. clutter discussion. If you walked into my house RIGHT NOW. You would say Oh my GAWD! This woman is a slob! Ah but, the toilets are clean and the floor has been mopped. Just don't look too closely at the carpet. Ack.

I know the guy from dyson that is hired to sprinkle dirt in my carpet at night, is eating my chocolates in my secret stash and putting runs in my pantyhose. Sun of uh Gun!

Ah hah, kerri, that is why they cost sooooo much. And, rug's bug, I love clean too, but all of my clutter drives me insane....where do I put it all?

Kelly, I am just going to forget that I read this...or I'll never walk across my carpet again....lalalalalal I'm not listening to you.

The clutter drives me crazy too.. but I can live with it, most of the time.
Of course, right now I'm neck deep in clothes that will be going to the Thrift store. I'm being ruthless today. Some days.. not so ruthless.
I threatened to throw away my son's K'Nex if I found any more on the floor. He flipped out and said I wouldn't dare. Hasn't he learned anything in his 8 years? Don't dare me.

Can you use that darn thing for hair cuts?

Day Four: same result.

The tooth fairy and the Dyson fairy must be in cohoots.

A Payne---better move the stash. Like somewhere under your bed. Is it bad Feng Shui when it's chocolate? Is that considered clutter?

Okay, last update on the Dyson, I promise. Afer six -- count 'em, SIX -- vacuuming sessions, the rug in the living room is finally approaching clean. The dust cup, while not empty, is not so disgustingly full.

This vacuum cleaner is amazing.

Dad, I don't know about cutting your hair with the Dyson. As far as I know, it doesn't cut, but it does suck!

You could use it to suck up the hair AFTER the cut, perhaps?
