Yes. It is very hurtful if it is an adult and in normal conversation. But a child or someone you have contracted to give your expertise either formally or imformally, that is different. My family did this to me about pronunciation. They were not cruel but it made me very selfconscious about talking to my family and in the presence of my family. I do not tell people about a physical condition that they have even if they are unaware of it i.e. some forms of COPD show body changes before they are aware of it. Also it is too late to stop smokeing to reverse the condition. Love aunt bobby
Well then, let me offer a belated celerbration buy leaving you a great comment. Your prolly wishing that I would just leaf, but its not gonna happen. Nope, ain't gonna leaf, it don't matter none, I'm staying.
I do quite a bit of correcting. I only do it in good fun, and with people who know it's all in good fun, but I have annoyed people in my life. I know it's hard to believe... heh heh
I have grown sensitive to how sensitive folks can be though, as my youngest has a pretty pronounced lateral lisp and wants to gut me and come hide inside my body when strangers correct his pronunciation. It's heartbreaking, and I feel for him. He can't help it, though. With grammar, I tend to think it can (and should) be helped, but I've learned to be kind. Most of the time.

Have I ever mentioned that I hate grammar? ;)
